An earthquake was recorded in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Tonga

An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 off the coast of Tonga on August 24 is reported by the American Geological Survey. The epicenter of the earthquake was 651 km north of Nukualof, the depth of the focus was 8.3 km. No tsunami threat was announced. According to the news agency, earlier in the Pacific Ocean an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred in the area of ​ ​ the Kermadek archipelago.
